ITAA expresses sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Ardis Rewerts, Associate Professor of Textiles and Apparel at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Rewert passed away on November 15, 2007 from complications related to an infection. She taught her last class in theHuman Ecology Department on November 2.
Dr. Rewerts arrived at UT in 1968 after completing her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education and Master of Science in Textiles and Apparel at the University of Illinois. After teaching for a brief time, she left Austin to obtain her doctorate in Textiles and Apparel at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She returned to UT Austin in 1977 and stayed for the remainder of her career.
