LEGACY GROUP SUPPORT INITIATIVE

The International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) is pleased to announce the launch of a new ITAA Early-Stage Support Initiative aimed at assisting members who wish to attend our annual conference but are facing financial challenges. Recognizing the importance of professional growth and career development—especially for our newer members—this support is designed to ensure greater accessibility and inclusion within our community.  Through this program, ITAA reaffirms its commitment to fostering academic and professional advancement for all members, regardless of financial circumstance.

As part of this initiative, up to six eligible Professional Members will receive $500 in financial assistance, and up to six Graduate Student Members will receive $300 in financial assistance to help offset the costs associated with conference attendance.  Decisions will be made by a panel made up of the President, President Elect, Counselor, and Treasurer.  In considering applications, the committee will consider financial need, the personal funding allowance available to an applicant by their institution, the benefits gained by attending the conference and those who have not previously received money from this fund.

Funds have become available generated from the accrued interest on an investment account. These funds, derived solely from interest earnings and not the principal investment, are being allocated in accordance with the intended purpose of supporting conference attendance, ensuring the sustainability and long-term growth of the account.

This support is intended for individuals who demonstrate financial need and meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant must have an accepted presentation, poster, design, workshop or other at the current year's conference.
  • Applicant must register for the full conference.
  • Preference given to early career professionals and graduate students nearing graduation.
  • Preference given to members whose abstract will not be presented if the member cannot otherwise attend the conference.
  • Professional members must have attended a conference previously.

Please complete the application below by September 1, 2025.

Decisions will be made by September 15th, giving the grant recipients time to register for the conference within the Early Registration time frame.
